I believe that the best images feel authentic while looking beautiful. To make the process stress-free, I focus on helping you connect with those around you rather than just telling you to smile for the camera.
To achieve that result on your wedding day, there will be time where I’m directing (couples photos, bridal party and family photos), and times where the day will unfold naturally (your ceremony and reception).

About Stephen
As a child, I learned how to process photos in my grandfather’s darkroom. He also took me to many photography exhibits together across the midwest—any guesses why my son is named Ansel?
In college, I began accepting wedding commissions. And while my skills have developed in the last 12 years/ 100+ weddings, I still love the thrill of creating “magic” images that immortalize a particular moment as a testament to what was unique about that moment, in that place.

I deliver your full wedding gallery of edited images in 3-4 weeks.

The exact number of images in your gallery will vary, but I don’t hold back on delivering great images! 8 hours of coverage typically provides around 800 finished photos, give or take.

Absolutely! Most of my packages include credit toward an album of your choice. If you want to use the credit, I work with you to design your custom album.

I have photographed just about 100 weddings over the last 10 years.

I love incorporating film into my process where it makes sense to do so. While most of your images will be captured with digital camera equipment, I will do my best to also capture some film if conditions allow. Medium format film looks so dreamy :)

Yes! I love doing an engagement session as it’s a great opportunity to get to know you better and for you get comfortable in front of the camera. It’s also nice to have some really nice photos of the two of you not just in wedding clothes as well.

I typically book out somewhere around a year out, though there may still be openings 4-6 month out. Feel free to reach out and I can let you know if I’m available for your specific date.

To provide the custom experience that each of my clients deserve, I accept 15-20 wedding commissions per year.

I LOVE to travel. I have photographed clients across the country and in other continents and would love to hear what you have in mind!

Yes, I work with you to identify what groupings of family photos you would like to capture on your wedding day. We typically do that after the ceremony and It’s also great to have someone who knows the family members on hand to help coordinate those groupings at that time.

Most of my couples spend around 5-6K on their photography coverage. Though I do have packages that range from 4.5-9K with varying levels of hourly coverage and additional elements like album credits, engagement photos, and other services.

Yes! All your photos will be available in an online gallery for you to download and use. You can also share the gallery. And while you can print your photos wherever you like, your gallery is linked directly to my favorite lab for archival-quality prints.

My family and I love to be out in nature and are so blessed by all the beautiful places here in Northern California. A few of our favorites include Point Reyes, Salvestrin winery in St Helena, Northern Lake Tahoe, Mt Tam, and the Sonoma coast.

I would love to speak with you to see if I’d be a fit for your wedding. If it’s a go, I’ll send you an agreement based on your needs. Once we’ve completed the agreement and I receive your non-refundable retainer of 25%, your date will be booked. Specific days are booked on a first-come, first-served basis.
