A Family Weekend Getaway in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California

As you may know by now, my family recently left the chilly-wintered northern Midwest for Northern California. One of the most insane things about living here is that there are endless locations to visit for day trips or weekend/ overnight trips. If you’re from here, I guarantee you take it for granted to some degree!

One of our favorite spots for a weekend excursion away from heme is Monterey/ Carmel. From the beautifully historic downtown Monterey, to the unbelievably white sand beaches in Carmel-by-the-Sea, to the stunning vistas of Big Sur, we relish our time there whenever we get to visit.

Earlier this year, we enjoyed a quiet weekend near Asilomar beach. It was Ideal. And hard to believe that we could travel just 2.5 hours and be in such a magical spot.
